Do you have a signature beauty trademark?

I feel like my hair is my signature beauty trademark. The one thing I definitely do everyday is a liquid liner eye.

What is your biggest beauty indulgence?

Fragrances, lip colours and nail varnish from NailsInc.

A facial and a manicure…

What is your one go to product?

I have to pick two. Liquid eyeliner and a bold amazing lip colour, but if we are listing just one specifically then I would pick a bold lip colour.

Which celeb always hits the mark when it comes to their make up and hair?

I don’t really have one celebrity for both. I think Rihanna’s make up recently is on point because its bold and experimental, but I love Solange’s hair. From her braids to her natural hair, I am a big fan of how she wears it.

What one beauty trend would you never ever try?

I can’t see myself saying no to anything really. I will try anything once.

Pick one: Nail art or clean and simple?

Clean and simple (in a banging colour, can have the same impact as nail art). However I am not opposed to a little Wah Nails inspired fun.

Wow, from Angelina’s big secret to the red carpet event of the year, this week has been quite a ride!

Angelina Jolie made headlines around the world last week. In a moving open letter to the New York Times, she explained her decision to undergo a double mastectomy. Angie said she “felt no less of a woman” for having undergone the surgery. Read her story and the incredible parallels between her and her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, on page 14.

Also this week, it’s the Cannes Film Festival – the most glamorous red carpet in the world, where even the paparazzi have to wear black tie. Don’t you love that? Of course, we have a girl on the inside, read her report on page 18.

And finally, we couldn’t help but notice there’s a new, unbuttoned fashion sensibility that seems to have affected many of the A-list. From boyfriend shirts to ripped jeans and scuffed sneakers, we’ve dubbed them “the scruffragettes” and you can get their look on page 50! I have now perfected that “tucked-in-but-not French insouciance!

If we were the type of ladies who spent our holidays swanning around on the French Riviera, then we could imagine settling on this Chanel collection for our wardrobe. I mean, wouldn’t the monochromatic prints look sensational with a pair of sunnies by the pool. Yes, we think so too.

I know it’s after the fact, but can we please take moment for Nicole Richie’s look at the Met Gala. Absolutely breath-taking. This look is sure to turn heads the next time you hit the red carpet. Maybe you can change it up with a different hair colour paint like charcoal or auburn.

Hair:

The hair is inspired by Alexander Wang’s 2011 spring collection hair. Where hair pant is used to create a temporary hair colour change. The method is called Balayage. There are various method seen online from chalk dye to henna that can be used to get this look.

Make Up:

We absolutely love the highlights on Nicole’s face:

1. Use Mac temperature Rising Bronzing Powder on your cheekbones, forehead and bridge of your nose; to create that beautiful glow

Yes, we know it’s sad to say goodbye to those warm summery days as winter is well and truly here… but fear not. Just because the warmer weather has left us, doesn’t mean your winter style has to suffer too. This season we are prepared to brace the cold with the most sought after item seen on everyone from celebs Taylor Swift and Rachel Bilson to street style stars snapped across the world, the beanie.

There are four types of beanies to be coveting this winter, the first being the neon version, perfect for injecting some much needed colour into dull, winter wear that we all fall prey to during the colder months.

The second is the cat beanie, for no other reason that it is the new cute and quirky way to wear a beanie this winter.

The third style we are obsessed with this season is the slogan beanie, think along the lines of Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora’s eccentric headwear.
